Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using our laundry services.

Welcome to American Mega Laundromat. By using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. These terms apply to all services offered by American Mega Laundromat, including but not limited to wash and fold, pickup and delivery, and self-service laundry facilities.

Service Options

American Mega Laundromat offers drop-off and curbside wash and fold services at our Hyattsville, MD facility, as well as pickup and delivery services throughout the Maryland Suburban, Washington DC, and Northern Virginia Metropolitan areas.

Minimum Weight and Cost

Drop-Off Service

Minimum of 15 pounds at $1.59 per pound.

Pickup and Delivery

Minimum weight and cost vary based on distance from our facility:

  • 0-5 miles: 25 lbs minimum at $2.59/lb
  • 5-10 miles: 30 lbs minimum at $2.59/lb
  • 10-15 miles: 35 lbs minimum at $2.59/lb
  • 15-20 miles: 40 lbs minimum at $2.59/lb

Service Charge

A minimum service charge (gratuity) applies to all services:

  • 15% for residential and commercial clients
  • 10% for senior citizens and non-profit organizations

No-Show Charge

A $25 fee applies if a customer is not present for a scheduled pickup or delivery. Please ensure you are available at the scheduled time or contact us in advance to reschedule.

Same-Day Service

Same-day service is available for drop-off at $2.25 per pound at our Hyattsville location. Pickup and delivery services are processed within 24 hours.

Payment Terms

We accept all major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Charges are applied when the invoice is issued. For commercial accounts, we offer invoicing options with net-30 terms upon approval.

Garment Care

While we take utmost care with all garments, please note the following:

  • We do not guarantee stain removal
  • We are not responsible for damage due to normal wear and tear
  • We are not responsible for damage due to inherent material defects
  • Items with special care requirements should be identified at drop-off

Damages from Non-Laundry Items

American Mega Laundromat is not responsible for damage caused by items left in clothing pockets or garments, including but not limited to crayons, ink pens, gum, tissues, or other foreign objects. Please check all pockets before submitting laundry.

Loss, Damage, or Theft

We are not liable for items left unattended for pickup or delivery. Please ensure all items are secured and handed directly to our staff when possible. For any claims of loss or damage, please notify us within 24 hours of delivery.

Storage and Unclaimed Items

We provide one week of free storage for completed laundry. After this period:

  • A daily storage charge of 1% of the invoice amount will be applied
  • Unclaimed laundry will be donated to charity after six months
  • We will make reasonable attempts to contact you before donation

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made at least 4 hours before your scheduled pickup or delivery time to avoid the no-show charge. You can cancel or reschedule through our mobile app, website, or by calling our customer service line.

Liability Limitation

Our liability for any lost or damaged items is limited to 10 times the cost of cleaning the item, up to a maximum of $100 per item or $500 per order, whichever is less. We recommend removing valuable items before submitting laundry.
